On any given day you are most likely to find us communing with the gnomes and the fairies Under The Old Oak Tree

Counting Our Blessings...

As our family looks towards Thanksgiving at the end of the November, we are starting a new tradition.  We removed all of the decorations from our nature tree table.  I spent today printing out leaves on fall colored papers and cutting them out (okay...to be honest, I'm going to have some to cut out later on too).  I'm putting each leaf on a thread so that we can hang them on our nature table tree.  At dinner time after grace we have decided to come up with one thing that we as a family are grateful for (to be agreed on by everyone at the table and no repeats).  I'll then write it on one of the leaves and hang it on our nature table gratitude tree.  It is my sincere hope that this little exercise will become a yearly tradition and that it will help our family to think about how much we really have for which we are grateful.

I'm going to keep a running list here on our blog of the things we come up with.

11/1/10 We are grateful for our home.
11/2/10 We are grateful for our cat Alfie.
11/3/10 We are grateful for Daddy who does so much for our family!
11/4/10 We are grateful for Chinese food when Mama is feeling sick!
11/5/10 We are grateful for good neighbors!
11/6/10 We are grateful for signs that W might be ready to potty learn!
11/7/10 We are grateful for a wonderful evening with old and new friends!
